Our Team
Poulsbo Therapy & Wellness is a group practice made up of Marriage and Family Therapists, Mental Health Therapist, and Social Workers. We have several providers who specialize in Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR). While we may specialize in different areas and have varying educational backgrounds, we all practice from evidence based modalities and approach each client holistically. Below, read more about each of our unique styles.
We look forward to walking beside you.
Approach
Compassion and humor is what you will experience when sitting with me. I cultivate a safe place for you to be your authentic and vulnerable self as we work together to achieve your therapeutic goals. My clients consist of individuals ranging from 15 years old – 70 years old, with a wide array of issues related to communication, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, conflict management, intimacy, trauma, and stress. My Master’s in Counseling and post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy have equipped me to effectively and compassionately work with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The modalities I draw from most consistently include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocess (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Bowenian Transgenerational Systems Theory. My understanding of the human condition is largely informed by Attachment Science.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a scientifically supported approach to treating trauma. It is the preferred approach utilized by the Veterans Affairs Department to treat PTSD. This approach has proven to help individuals heal from both trauma and distressing events.

Approach
My holistic approach to therapy is conversational and client focused. I provide a confidential space with support while you navigate feelings, experiences, and obstacles. Together, we explore strategies and identify thinking patterns. I integrate various evidence-based treatment modalities depending on the area and impact. I blend mindfulness techniques with CBT and DBT interventions paired with Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, and EMDR to facilitate all stages change. My previous experience includes working in the substance use disorder field and extensive training in Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation. I have worked with local Indigenous communities and understand the magnitude and impacts of generational trauma. Recently, I worked with high- risk teens in an educational setting. I have witnessed adversities translate to strengths, in both personal and professional spheres.

Approach
By using a client-centered approach to create a collaborative space with clients, I have witnessed therapy empower individuals to heal from the emotional impact of past experiences. The therapeutic modalities I draw from include but are not limited to Solution Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotion Focused Therapy. In the therapy room, I encourage clients to self-reflect and explore different alternatives and ways they can become unstuck from negative patterns.
My experience includes working with couples around strengthening their relationship, conflict management, role imbalances, stress, and communication. I work with individuals on an array of presenting issues, including those new to parenting, empty nesters, or other transitions that come with family life. My training in EMDR has also equipped me to support those recovering from traumatic experiences.
I am passionate about serving the first responder community and their families, as well as issues brought on by the job, transition between work and home, and cumulative stress that first responder families face.
