Approach

Compassion and humor is what you will experience when sitting with me. I cultivate a safe place for you to be your authentic and vulnerable self as we work together to achieve your therapeutic goals. My clients consist of individuals ranging from 15 years old – 75 years old, with a wide array of issues related to communication, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, conflict management, intimacy, trauma, and stress. My Master’s in Counseling and post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy have equipped me to effectively and compassionately work with people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The modalities I draw from most consistently include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocess (EMDR), and Bowenian Transgenerational Systems Theory.

Emotionally Focused Therapy is one of the most well researched approaches to relationship therapy, shown to improve connection and safety. I have completed both EFT externship and core skills, and am working towards certification and receive regular EFT supervision/consultation. This modality influences my work with individuals and couples. I also have experience working with clients who are practicing ethical-non monogamy.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a scientifically supported approach to treating trauma. It is the preferred approach utilized by the Veterans Affairs Department to treat PTSD. This approach has proven to help individuals heal from both trauma and distressing events.

My experience includes, working in the substance use disorder field and extensive training in Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation.
